She was born to Dorsey and Garnet Beatrice (Doty) Atha. On May 29, 1940, she married Milo W. Ludy, who died June 6, 1944. On Jan. 23, 1946, she married Lloyd V. Wheeler, who died Feb. 4, 1984.

Surviving are a son, Jerry (Marina), Portland; a daughter, Pam (Rex) Clevenger, Portland; a brother, Lee (Mary) Atha, Portland; a sister, Marie Schooley, Portland; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was a maintenance employee of Jay County High School from 1980 to 1990 and also worked at Sheller Globe. She was a member of Mary Help of Christian Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, and American Legion Post 211 Auxiliary, Portland.

Services at Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home, the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating.
