Dawn C. "Chris" King, 59, Mercersburg, PA died unexpectedly May 3, 2021 at her home.
Born October 21, 1961, in Chambersburg, PA she was a daughter of the late Maurice "June" and Mary (Barnhart) Lowans.
Chris was a graduate of James Buchanan High School, Mercersburg. She was employed for the past 17 years at Letterkenny Army Depot.
Chris was a member of PA Cruisers Car Club. She loved her cats, and her dog. She enjoyed showing her 1968 Camaro at car shows, going out to dinner with her husband and friends, playing the fish bowls, games on her computer, and sitting on the front porch and watching Cardinals.
Surviving family include her husband Samuel L. King, whom she married July 3, 1997. Three daughters, Kristi L. (Tim) Norton, Greencastle, Tasha K. (Frank) Filer, Fannettsburg, PA, and Samantha J. "Jo" Long and fiancé Ronald Plummer, Jr., McConnellsburg. Seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren. Seven sisters, Arlene Gordon, Hagerstown, Darlene Foust, Chambersburg, Donna Wertz, Bedford, PA, Trudy Lowans, McConnellsburg, Kathy Chilcote, and Teresa Hockenberry both of Mercersburg, Anita Sheffield, Greencastle. Three brothers, Raymond Lowans, Mercersburg, Tim Lowans, Greencastle, and Donny Lowans, Fort Loudon. A brother, Gary Barnhart, preceded Chris in death.
