Clayton farmed north of Ralls since he was 15 years old. He ran a dairy and raised and showed jersey cattle, duroc hogs, chickens, and dairy goats with his brother, Norris. He passed on his love for livestock to his sons and grandchildren and was a big supporter of the Crosby County Livestock Show. He continued his hobby of showing chickens with his friend, Floyd Starkey and was honored in 2017 at the SPBA Spring Show for his years of support. He was a member of the Ralls First United Methodist Church. He resided in the Crosbyton Nursing home for the past seven years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three sisters Marie Brixey, Kathryn Hunter, and Francis Loraine Sellers, and one brother Frank Norris Sellers, and one granddaughter Melissa Sellers.
Survivors include sons Aunie Sellers and wife Cheryl, Kent Sellers and wife Vicki, Bruce Sellers and wife Peggy, and Kelly Robledo and wife Debbie, all of Ralls. Grandchildren Brian Sellers and wife Staci, Denice Sellers, Derek Sellers and wife Whitney, Monte Sellers, Allison Garrett and husband Kevin, Wesley Sellers, and Emily Birdwell and husband Garrett. Great-Grandchildren Zack and Quade Sellers, Beau, Tenley, Dylan and Gunner Garrett, Sloane and Graham Birdwell, Ashley Zavala and husband Fernando Jr, Devon Garcia, and Kenzie Sellers, Great-Great-Grandchildren, Jace, Madison and Jonah Zavala, and Kambree Sellers, one brother Kenneth Sellers of Ralls and a sister Barbara Lutrick of Floydada. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday May 3, 2021 at the Ralls Cemetery Chapel with Ben Hitt officiating. Burial is under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. A visitation will be held Sunday May 2, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. till 4:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls.
Pallbearers are Brian, Kelly, Kevin, Derek, Devon, Monte, Garrett, and Wesley. Honorary pallbearers are his great-grandsons.
