Carl Hutson, retired bank manager, dies
Carl H. Hutson, 68, of 641 Lemont Drive, a retired bank manager for the former Commerce Union Bank, died yesterday in his sleep at his home. ... Mr. Hutson was a member of Jackson Park Church of Christ where he had taught Sunday school for 35 years. He was manager of the Commerce Union branch on Dickerson Road before retiring in 1978. Mr. Hutson was active in the Boy Scouts as commissioner of the Hermitage District, chairman of advancement for Troup 282 and adult training chairman for the Watauga District. He also held the Silver Beaver and Long Rifle awards. He was a board member of the Nashville Home Improvement Club and a former board member of the Woman's Club of Nashville and the building committee of the East Nashville YMCA. He also served as an election officer at Maplewood High School. Survivors include his wife, Bessie Mai Shoffner Hutson; a daughter, Fran Young, Nashville; two sons, Dr. Tom Hutson and John S. Hutson, Nashville, five grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.
