Angela Kleckley Lane, 68, passed away after an incredibly brave, decade-long battle with cancer. Daughter to Joseph Alvin Kleckley, Jr. and June Lucas Burkhalter, she was born March 9, 1953 in Columbia, SC. After living in Germany as a result of her husband Gene's military career, she attended the University of South Carolina before working for 25 years as an Administrative Assistant for the SC Department of Education until her retirement in 2015. Angela will forever be fondly remembered for her unconditional loving nature and the kindness she displayed to virtually everyone she ever met.

In addition to her mother, June Burkhalter, she is survived by her husband of 48 years, Gene Lane; son, Brandon Lane (Tonya); daughter, Marisa Elwood (Ron); sister, Wanda Jeffries (Gene); brother, Joseph A. Kleckley III (Chris); grandchildren: Brianna Lane, Crystal Gambrill and Michael Lane; along with 3 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:30am on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 August Road, Lexington, SC, followed by a 12:00pm graveside service at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Levine Cancer Institute of Charlotte, NC.
