Juanita "Nita", Murphy, 94, of Henrietta, Texas, went home to heaven on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Hope Cemetery in Henrietta, Texas with Rev. Randy Osborn, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Henrietta, Texas, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta.
Nita was born on April 29, 1927 in Bluegrove, Texas to J.W. and Ada (Haigood) Butler. She was retired from Sheppard Air Force Base Civil Service where she worked in payroll services for 30 years. She formed many friendships there and still gathered together on occasion to reminisce. Nita was a member of the First Baptist Church in Henrietta where she served as secretary for her Sunday school class for many years. Her hobbies were working in her flower beds and planting new flowers. She also collected coffee mugs from almost all of the states and many foreign countries.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sister, Mabel Sanderson, Jeffie Strickland, Eva Mae Williams, and Maxine Evans; two brothers, L.D. Butler and Milton Butler.
Survivors include daughter, Treva Gibson of Columbus, Georgia; two grandchildren, Trisha Hargrove and husband Travis of Columbus, Georgia and Erica Bartels and husband Steve of Statesboro, Georgia; great grandchildren, Hayden Bartels, Shelby Bartels, Ethan Bartels, Charlotte Hargrove, Camille Hargrove, and Caroline Hargrove; nieces Louise Pollard and Denise Boyland; several cousins and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Henrietta at 208 S. Graham St. Henrietta, Texas 76365.
