Rocklin, California - Laura passed peacefully with family by her side on March 27, 2021. Laura is survived by her husband , Richard F. Harris; her kids, Richard, Thomas, and Donna; siblings, Sylvia, Wilbur, and Robert; grandkids Karmen, Chris, Jennifer, Tony, Tristan, and Ella Rose; and numerous great grandkids, nieces and nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents Refugio and Juanita, sister Yvonne, and former husband Donald R. Russell.
In life, Laura touched the heart and soul of countless friends with her kindness, loving spirit, grace, and enthusiasm for living. Laura never stopped sharing the spotlight that always seemed to find her.
Laura was born in Colton, California and attended elementary and high school in Oceanside and Carlsbad. She married at 18 and moved to Sacramento in the early 1950s where she raised her kids. She enjoyed the best years and remainder of her life in Rocklin where she and Dick settled in the 1980s.
Laura was an avid golfer and gardener, a tennis champion and teacher, and when not on the court or course, kept walking and never stopped moving.
As Laura would wish, she would want all that knew her to share a Laura story or two and laugh out loud with her, her family and her friends. There were so many backdrops in Laura's life including over the years: Northwood Road, The Mr. and Mrs. Club, Del Norte Swim and Tennis Club, Adult Night, her Datsun 260Z, Bahia Kino, Laura and Dick, Sunset Whitney Country Club, The Book Club, an Laura's Garden on #9.
