A retired worker for General Motors, Joseph enjoyed woodworking, word search puzzles, and watching westerns on television. His greatest joy was his family.
Joseph leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years: Judith Hanyecz Yates of Allons; son: Joseph William Yates of New York; daughter: Sandra Cianelli of Cookeville; grandchildren: John (Lisa) Brown of Kansas, James (April) Brown of Mississippi, Kelly (Ricky) Mayberry of Livingston, Matthew (Chesley) Brown of Monterey, and Michael Cianelli of Cookeville; 3 great-grandchildren; brother: Charles Yates of New Jersey; sisters: Sally Pittenger of Pennsylvania, Betty Parker and Gail Glukowsky both of New Jersey.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his brother: Tommy Yates and sister: Valerie Kildren.
Funeral Services were conducted Friday, May 7, 2021 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. James Shenko officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
