Shelly Richards, 59, of Grayson passed away March 10, 2017. She was born September 21, 1957 in Ashland, KY; a daughter of Garnetta Dyer (Ron) Walters and the late Paul Bowling.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Jerry and Alice Bowling, and her maternal grandparents, Arnold and Ina Dyer.

She was a graduate of East Carter High School and Morehead State University where she received a degree in radiology. She gave her heart to Jesus at the age of 9 and served him all of her life. She was a member of the Gregoryville Christian Church. She had been employed by the Raleigh Medical Center in West Virginia where she also taught classes to Bluefield College students.

In addition to her mother , she is survived by a son, Benjamin "Andy" Richards of Morehead, KY; two sisters, Stephanie (Harold) Bailey of Camden, OH and Ina (Ray) Riffe of Monroe, OH; three nephews, Daniel and Zachariah Bailey, and Cameron Riffe, who affectionately called her "Boo Boo," and a life-long friend , Debbie Terry King along with a host of family and friends who love her.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gregoryville Christian Church. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens.
