Michael Allen Lockhart was born September 11, 1971 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Allen and Pam (Willard) Lockhart. Michael passed away May 3, 2021 at the age of 49 years 5 months and 3 days old, when Michael was 3 years old the family was told after diagnosis, by Doctor Ratliff that he was mentally retarded borderline, the family was told to not treat him any differently than anyone else and that is what the family did. The family moved to Glencoe, Oklahoma in 1973 where his dad worked on a Dairy Farm owned by George Moore. In 1975 the family moved to Edmond, Oklahoma where his dad worked on a Dairy Farm owned by Gilbert Sich. Michael went to a daycare at Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma for 3 or 4 year old children with mental handicaps. He then went to Russell Doughtery Elementary School, then Cimarron Middle School. The family moved back to Pawnee in 1985, Michael attended Pawnee Middle School and then Pawnee High School graduating in 1990. His parents were told if he attended college he would probably only complete one semester, he proved them wrong, it took him 3 years at a 2 year school but he graduated with an Associate Arts in Mass Communication from Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa. He then went on to study at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma but mental illness kept him from graduating just 9 hours from finishing with his Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications. He came home to Pawnee, where he lived until he passed away. He loved going to Stillwater to drink coffee with his special friends Jim Barnes, Ginger and Madison at the Daily Grind and Jim Barnes and others at Panera Bread. Michael Loved the Pawnee Black Bears, Dallas Cowboys, Oklahoma State Cowboys and the St. Louis Cardinals. Now he is with family and friends who have died before him and Jesus his Savior and Lord. Those surviving him are his parents, Allen and Pam Lockhart, aunt Linda Kukak and spouse Jim, aunt Beverly Willard, aunt Dovie Lockhart and spouse Gail, aunt Valarie Lockhart and spouse Billy Bob, and aunt Rosalie Bartlett, plus numerous cousins, and other family and friends. Those passing before him , grandparents, Elmer and Neva Willard, and Frank B. and Bessie Lockhart, uncles, Leroy Willard, and Jerry Willard, cousins Robert Reeves Sr. and Elton Dale Willard. Services will be held Saturday 10:00 A.M. May 8, 2021 in the Pawnee First Baptist Church with Pastor John Coker officiating, burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery in Pawnee, Oklahoma.
