William Pitner (Bill) Higgins, of Concord, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021, at the age of 91.
Bill was born on July 28, 1929 to the late Bertha Wayne Higgins (1902-1990) and Paul Weyman Higgins Sr (1900-1981).
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Payne Higgins,(1932-2020), after 66 years of marriage.
Bill graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) and was an avid Auburn fan. He worked at U.S. Steel until retirement.
Bill is a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Concord Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Rhonda Brinton (Mark) and Jennifer Sandlin (Russell) along with five grandchildren, Stephen Sandlin, Kelli Sandlin (Jordan), Ashley Harrolle (Jeff), Laura Meythaler (Andrew) and Amy Summers (Harry).
The graveside service will be held Friday, May 7, 2021, at 11:00 AM, at Concord Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Concord Baptist Church
