She was born in February 9, 1925, in Fort Worth to William Jackson Amyett and Bertha Mae Daniel Amyett. She grew up in a large, loving family of 10 children, and on May 3rd, 1947, she married Forrest Lee Bailey. They made their first home in rural Tarrant County, and in 1950 moved to present day Southlake, where they lived for 47 years. In 1997 they moved to their new farm in Keeter. Dorothy spent her life as a farmer's wife, mother of three, grandmother of five, and great-grandmother of fifteen. Her good cooking, assured that there was never an empty chair at her table for Sunday dinner or holidays. Her's was a happy home filled with love and laughter.
