GETTYSBURG — Albert Ackerman, 78, Gettysburg, died Sunday in St. Mary's Hospital, Pierre.
Mr. Ackerman was born on Jan. 3, 1907, in Monroe. He served in the Army from May, 1942, until Oct. 1944.
For many years, he farmed in the Lakeview, Iowa, area. In 1960, he came to Gettysburg to farm.
He was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include two sisters: Minnie McDonnell and Florence McKinnon, both of Gettsburg.
Burial was in the Gettysburg Cemetery.
