Betty graduated from Hanna High School in 1945. She was blessed to be able to be a homemaker throughout her adult life. In July of 1948, Betty married Edwin Porter Jacobs, from this union their pride and joy Pamela Lou was born on December 22, 1958. Porter and Betty were happily married for 44 years before Porter's passing in 1992. After Porter's passing Betty lovingly picked up the reigns of spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her free time, she could be found tending to her flower beds, tidying up her front yard, watching QVC, or cooking up a home cooked meal for her family. She was always up for a weekend shopping trip with her daughter Pam or a family vacation to Branson. Betty loved her morning routine of enjoying a pot of coffee and watching the cars drive by her house. Betty always made sure everyone felt welcome that came into her home. Betty enjoyed celebrating the holidays and attending any events in her grandchildren and great grandchildren lives. The love that Betty had for her family was immensely felt by all that knew her and will be tremendously missed. Betty will be greatly missed, but there is comfort knowing that her body and mind are whole once again as she walks the streets of Heaven with her loved ones.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Jacobs) McDonald, of Eufaula, OK; grandchildren: Crystal Pelley and husband, Scott, of Checotah, OK; Blake McDonald, and Jacob McDonald, both of Eufaula, OK; great grandchildren: Tara Kaiser, Aiden Pelley, and Mason Pelley, all of Checotah, OK; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Porter Jacobs; her parents, Robert L. and Birthel Hopkins; her sisters: Naomi Burkhart and Ruth Hopkins; and son in-law, Larry McDonald.
