Elsie V. Kay, 89, of Vienna passed away Sept. 8, 2006, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 1, 1917, in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Austin and Bernice Kessell. Elsie attended the Vienna Baptist Church and was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 151, White Shrine, Democrat Women's Club and Blennerhassett Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution.

Elsie is survived by her four children and their spouses, Penny and Michael Tice, Sam and Sharon Kay and Stephen L. Kay, all of Vienna, and Edward A. Ecker of Pettyville; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Cornelia Smith of Mt. Alto, W.Va., and Joan Warrender of Vermont.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Troy G. Kay; four brothers; and two sisters.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna, with Mr. Dennis Pratt officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday with an Eastern Star service to be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Vienna Public Library or to the Wood County Senior Citizens.
