Rick Shepherd, age 65, of Westerville, OH passed away suddenly in his home on April 30, 2021. He was a Broadcast Engineer with the Columbus Blue Jackets for 14 years.Worked at Channel 6 WSYX and the Columbus Clippers, where he helped get Huntington Park started through his engineering. A certified Ham Radio Operator. He built and flew model airplanes for many years. He had just started a snow plow and landscaping business with his son Ricky. An avid boater, he was known as "The Hammer". Rick also enjoyed Lionel Trains. He was intrigued with everything NASA. A fan of OSU football and Cleveland Browns. He always had multiple DIY projects. He was the family caregiver and was always there for other people. Also known as a practical joker. Rick was an organ donor through Lifeline of Ohio. Preceded in death by his parents, Denver and Alice; brother, Danny Allen; son, Justin Linger; in-laws, Tony and Delores Williamson and grandmother-in-law, Ruth DelChicco. Survived by his wife , Sherry; son, Ricky, daughters, Lisa and Amy; grandchildren, Charles, Cayden, Chayse, Christian, Briaden and Kyia; brother, Michael (Kim); sister, Lori Shepherd; brother-in-law, Scott (Lisa) Williamson; sister-in-law, Stacy (James) Call; many nieces, nephews and friends as well as his beloved dog, Stella. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 8th from 9-11 a.m. at Moreland Funeral Home 55 East Schrock Road, Westerville, OH 43081 followed by a service at 11:00 a.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his son Ricky's future endeavors at US Bank.
