After graduating from Waco High a generous donor gifted Kathy a scholarship to Waco's LaVonne beauty School. After beauty school, Kathy worked at a small beauty shop off 25th street for the next 25 years. After the beauty shop closed Kathy worked at K- Mart for 15 years. When K-Mart closed, Kathy worked at Dillard's until she retired.
