Robert "Bob" Paul Merrill, 68, of Princeton, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. He was born October 17, 1952 to the late Robert Daniel Merrill and Nina Martha (Risley) Merrill and married the love of his life, Kathie Merrill on June 18, 1971. Bob worked as a horse trainer for standard horse breeds for over 15 years. He also worked about 10 years for the State Highway Department plowing snow. Bob collected sports memorabilia, mainly baseball and cards; he loved fishing; and watching his grandkids play ball, wrestle, and run track. He was an avid pool player and won several tournaments. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Bob is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Kathie Merrill; children, Nancy "Missy" Turner, Robert Daniel Merrill (Renee), and Matthew Paul Merrill; grandchildren, Dominic Merrill, Breylin Turner, Marissa Turner, Robert Paul Merrill, Ryan Daniel Merrill, and Regan Renee Lutz; great-grandchildren, Theo Arleigh Merrill and Robert Daniel Merrill; siblings, Marlene Finn (Merle), Jackie Miller (Bob), Wayne Merrill (Nancy), Linda Riggle (Brad Malin), and Mark Merrill (Alice); and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Kaleigh Merrill; and his life long best friend like brother, Richard Lindsey.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, May 7, 2021 at Bates Hill Cemetery in Yankeetown officiated by his son, Robert Paul Merrill.
