Ronald D. "Cap'n Ron" Hicks, age 58, of Dayton, passed away April 30, 2021, with his family by his side. He was born to the late Gerald and Ruth Hicks on October 21, 1962, in Dayton, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Hicks; and siblings, Jerry and Patricia.

He is survived by his loving children, Heather Vititoe, Brian Hicks and Mike (Victoria) Hicks; 4 grandchildren, Kayla, Kiley, Tommy and Brian; great granddaughter, Raelynn. He also leaves behind brothers and sisters, Robert (Mary), Daniel (Arvinia), Betty, Dorothy (Tony), Charlie (Janet), Rose, William, Susan, James (Julie) and Ruth; sisters in law, Suellen and Jerri. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews, Robert, Jennifer, Mandi (Bruce), Korah, Gail, Laura, Katie, David, Brad, Annestasia, Anthony and Kenneth; great nieces and nephews, Brock, Alainey, Isaac, Ethan, Oliver, Aden, Scarlett and Lilli; and many more family and friends.

He is a loving husband, father, papaw, brother, uncle and friend. He drove a truck at XPO Logistics for many years. He loved going fishing and watching sports.

Visitation will be held from 11:00am-12:00pm, on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, where funeral services will begin at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
