Maude Tirrell Wentland. a native of Michigan and a long-time resident of Santa Cruz, died yesterday in the home of a daughter, Miss Bonita Wentland, in Ferndale, Mich., after an illness of 10 months. Her home in Santa Cruz was a 408 Lincoln street.
Formerly a teacher in Michigan public schools, she also had been active in the Methodist church both In Michigan and Santa Cruz. She had taught Sunday school classes for 40 years and had attended Sunday schools 40 years without being absent. While in Michigan she had been active also in the Red Cross and had received a citation for 500 hours service. She was a member of the First Methodist church of Santa Cruz and the church choir; she was a program chairman of the Lois circle; She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution; Isabella Lodge 17 of the Rebekahs; a past president of the Women's Luncheon club; the secretary of the Santa Cruz branch of the American Fuchsia society: a former vice president of a Michigan Red Cross chapter; a past president of the Culture club in Michigan, and a member of the Retired Teachers association. She is survived by another child. Revere Wentland of Victorville; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. funeral arrangements are pending at Wessendorf and Thal, Inc.

Maude Wentland Rites Planned Funeral services for Maude Tirrell Wentland will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in the Wessendorf chapel with Rev. Don S. Fleming, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating. Entombment will follow in the IOOF mausoleum.
