CHASE - George A. Sieker, 81, died Nov. 2, 2007, at Ellinwood District Hospital.
He was born Nov. 3, 1925, in Hutchinson, the son of Harry Irwin and Amelia Marie Galliart Sieker Sr. He graduated in 1943, from Ellinwood High School. A resident of Barton and Rice counties since 1942, formerly of Dodge City, he was a retired farmer.
He belonged to St. John's Lutheran Church, Ellinwood, where he was president of the congregation and a choir member, the USD 401 School Board, Chase Co-op board, and the Raymond Township Trustee.
On Oct. 24, 1948, he married Virginia L. Binger in Ellinwood. She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Ron and his wife Barb, Dodge City, Richard and his wife Patty, Russell, and Robert and his wife Carol, Chase; a daughter, Carolyn Poole, Stafford; six grandchildren, Michelle and Doug Adams, Audrey and Casey Rynerson, Brian Sieker, Kurt Sieker, Emily Poole, and Melody Poole; and a great-grandson, Parker Rynerson.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Ann Sieker and brother, Harry Sieker Jr.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Ellinwood, with the Rev. Jeff Frakes presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, at Kimple Funeral Home, Ellinwood, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the Lutheran Church Altar Guild, or the Ellinwood District Hospital Auxiliary, both in care of the funeral home.
