Beloved son, husband, father, brother, friend and one of God's most special spirits returned home to heaven unexpectedly on April 28, 2021. Kent entered this world on June 5, 1964, they laid him in his mother's arms and he opened his eyes as if to say "get ready world, here I come". He began his life journey in Ogden, Utah, later moving to San Diego where his mother got stationed while serving in the military. His high school years were spent at Bonneville High in Ogden transferring to Mira Mesa High in San Diego where he graduated in 1982. He enlisted in the United States Navy in the fall of 1982 serving honorably for 10 years and subsequently went on to obtain a Bachelor and Masters Degrees from the University of Arizona Global Campus.

On June 18, 1989 he married his best friend and love of his life Michele Delaney and was blessed with two amazing children Dylan and Heather with whom he has shared countless wonderful memories. As a father he was their biggest fan, mentor, supporter and cheerleader. Kent had a successful career as a Finance and Sales Manager. A natural born leader, he was a mentor to many, helping to develop and grow the success of others.

Kent's passion was golfing. He completed the PGA Golf Academy in San Diego and became a golf coach helping to increase the skills of others in a sport he truly enjoyed. He participated in multiple tournaments and loved spending time with his children and friends in this passion. If you had the privilege of crossing paths with Kent, count yourself blessed for he saw the greatness and good in everyone, was generous, kind and a giving spirit that never made you feel like a stranger. Kent was truly one of kind and will be missed forever by those who knew and loved him.

Kent is survived by his loving wife Michele, children Dylan and Heather (his pride and joy), mother Vie Lee Walter, brother Derek DeGroot, in-laws Mike and Nancy Delaney, uncle Mark Gilbert, nieces and nephews Jerika DeGroot, Tiffany, Lorelai and Donovan Burton, Christine and Stephanie Sole.

He is preceded in death by those who met him to guide him into eternity, his father Lawrence Walter and grandparents Clyde and Marie Gilbert.

A memorial service for our dear Kent will be held in San Diego CA at the El Camino Memorial on May 21st from 2pm to 7pm PST.
