Joseph Alexander Perry was born August 16, 1969. He died on April 26, 2021 of what is being labeled "I'm ok, there's nothing wrong - until he pitched over". His parents are Hjardis, a woman of infinite patience and grace, and Richard, a kind man with a streak of stubborn which his son perfected.

Joseph was referred to as Joe, Son, Dad, Sweetheart, Joey (a nickname he despised), and lately You-Stupid-Idiot, which is the politest term his grieving widow and daughter could think of for his obituary.

He was the kind of person that made an impression on you. A shy man, he much preferred the company of a few people he liked. If you had earned his goodwill he would share everything from his massive opinions to his massive tool collection. If he didn't like you he had no problem showing you a cold shoulder and/or calling you out on your BS. He kept current on news enabling him to have intelligent, if sometimes spirited, discussions. He also loved nerdy things, being an original nerd himself: computers, gaming, comics, books, etc. He was awesome at having great intentions and plans, and horrible follow through.

Joe is survived by his daughter Meagan Rose Perry, spouse of 11/21 years Kathryn (Kathy don't you dare call me Katie) Perry, parents Dick and Hjardis, sisters Melanie Sanderson and Christine Kolp, sisterly progeny Heather Freyer, Rocky Quamme, RC Simmons, Paula Perry, and Bee Poshek, and Meagan's mom Pamela Perry who has shared her daughter with Kathy for the past 2 decades. He also has a number of friends who liked and loved him and called him Brother. There were many people whom he didn't realize cared about him, and fervently wish that he hadn't been such a stupid prat and would have gone to the doctor when his nagging wife told him to go.

A celebration of life event will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 11 am to 3pm at the home he shared with Kathy in St. Paul MN. There will be a private viewing area, proceeding to a gathering area and food. Joe was an avowed atheist. In respect to him attendees are being asked to refrain from religious references. Peaceful, non denominational condolences will be welcomed, and others will be reminded that this celebration is about the person Joe was. The ambience will also be a reflection of his personality with an eclectic music mix. We, his wife and daughter and closest friends, wish to celebrate, denigrate, and castigate our favorite degenerate. Joe Perry was a pain the ass, but he was OUR pain the ass.
