CARENCRO ~ Funeral services will be held Friday, April 30, 2021 at a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church for Kevin "Boonie" Jermaine Lawrence, age 35, who passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 at his residence in Opelousas.

Interment will be in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Grand Coteau.

Kevin Jermaine Lawrence was born on October 15, 1985 in Lafayette and was a native and resident of Sunset for most of his life. He was self-employed as an automotive mechanic. He was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church. Kevin, affectionately known as "Boonie", was an incredible husband and father. He loved spending time with his family and his legacy will live on in their hearts.

Survivors include his wife of over ten years, Erica Freeman Lawrence of Lewisburg; four daughters, Asia Lawrence, Amashia Lawrence, Kaysha Lawrence, and Alayshia Lawrence; his mother, Barbara J. Lawrence of Sunset; his father, Harold Dixon of Houston, TX; three sisters, Ella Lawrence and her fiancé, Chadwick Gary, of Carencro, Cassandra Cormier and her husband, Trevor, of New Iberia, and Crystal Flugence and her husband, Kendrick, of Sunset; his maternal grandmother, Ella M. Lawrence of Sunset; an aunt, Alida Charlot of Sunset; his Godson, Damon Lionel Broussard; a sister-in-law, Tawana Lawrence of Duson; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother Kendrick Leon Lawrence; his maternal grandfather, Eugene Lawrence; his paternal grandmother, Roberta Dixon Babineaux; an aunt, Rose Briscoe; an uncle, Floyd Henry; his mother-in-law, Tessie Jane Freeman; and a brother-in-law, Landrus Freeman.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 a.m. Friday until service time on Friday.
