SEDGWICK, Elizabeth Wade Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died peacefully on Saturday, February 9, 2013 in Lexington, MA. Born December 17, 1913 in Cleveland, OH, she married Ellery Sedgwick Jr of Boston in 1941. They lived in Cleveland for 50 years, both actively involved in the civic life of the city. Her major commitments were to her family, Cleveland's cultural institutions, and to several family planning organizations. After his death in 1990, she moved to Brookhaven in Lexington. She leaves to cherish her memory, four children, as well as ten grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. To her survivors she leaves a model of grace, courage, and generosity of spirit. The family wishes to express deep gratitude to the aides and nurses who lovingly cared for her in her final months. A celebration of her life will be held at Brookhaven in Lexington at a time to be determined and a burial service later in the year in Stockbridge, MA.
