Michael Leo Griffin, age 70, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away at his home on Monday, April 26, 2021.

Michael was born on February 12, 1951, the son of Leo and Claudia (Ricci) Griffin. He grew up in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School, Class of 1969.

Michael worked most of his adult life as a handyman. He was an avid reader, loved the outdoors, canoeing, fishing, and bowhunting. Michael also enjoyed collecting various items.

Those left to cherish his memory include his siblings, Maureen Hanlon (Stephen), Sharon Maloy (Robert), Pat Griffin (Tina), and Leo Griffin (Aniolina); nieces and nephews, Daniel, Matthew, Devin, Tavish, Austin, Kodak, Mikk, Paul, Misti, Hailey, Sierra, and Mallory. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Claudia Griffin.

The family would like to thank Mike's many friends, including Elaine Jordan, who has given Mike help and comfort. They would also like to offer a very special thank you to three amazing friends, who provided love and were there whenever Mike needed them: Marsha Frueh, Mary Horan, and Charlie Jordan. ("The Three Amigos").

Michael's wishes were to be cremated. Private services will be held at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Michael's memory to EveryStep Hospice.

The Winfield Funeral Home is assisting his family with services.
