KUNKEL, Alfred Henry - The family announces with sorrow his death after a valiant fight with cancer on Saturday April 18th, 2009 at the Timmins and District Hospital, at the age of 79. Dear father of Peigi (Bruce Maxwell) and Peter (Sandra) of Everett. Proud grandpa of Alexandra and Andrew. He will be sadly missed by brothers and sisters: Bob (Dorothy) of Albertville, Alabama, Joy of London, Marlene Empey of Brownsville, Jim (Barb) of London, Shirley McCall of London and Mary Jane (Bill Osborne) of St Mary's. Fondly remembered by aunts and many nieces and nephews. Alfred was born in Kitchener and had been a resident of London until the summer of 2006 when he moved to Timmins to live with his daughter. Dad enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping at Fanshawe Park and many trips to the Caribbean for deep sea fishing. He loved sitting in the shed in the back yard keeping an eye on the raspberry patch every summer, and all his visits with family. Remembrance donations to the Cancer Society or St. John's Lutheran Church will be gratefully acknowledged by the family. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday April 28th, 2009 at STINSON FUNERAL HOME. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Stinson Funeral Home, 100 Bruce Ave., South Porcupine, ON, (705) 235-2900.
