Alice - Francisco Garcia Jr. of Alice, Texas, 66 years of age, entered eternal rest on Tuesday April 27, 2021 at his home with his wife, children, and loving family members by his side. He was born October 5, 1954 to Francisco Garcia Sr. and Hortencia R. Garcia. Francisco graduated from Alice High School 1973 and soon after began his career with AT&T/Southwestern Bell Company spanning 34 years until his retirement in 2007. He met Dalia Alvarado in high school, they married in 1976 and spent nearly 50 years together. Francisco was hardworking, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and road trips that often involved driving the most scenic routes during out of state trips to Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, New Mexico, California, Nevada, Washington, and many other states but he especially enjoyed road trips to his "Paradise on Earth" located in the Hill Country of Texas.
Francisco is preceded in death by his parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, father-in-law, and brother-in-law.
He is survived by his wife, Dalia A. Garcia, 3 children- Erika G. (Guadalupe) Rios, Estevan F. Garcia, and Elissa F. Garcia (Michael Luna), 6 grandchildren-Zackariah R. Zertuche, Katie C. Rivera, Andrea C. Rivera, Christopher R. Rios, Leah B. Rios, and Irie A. Luna. Francisco is also survived by 2 sisters- Sylvia G. (Oscar) Lopez, and Nidia Garcia; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws, and brother-in-laws.
Visitation will be April 30, 2021 at 5:00p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:00p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home. Funeral mass is scheduled for 10:00a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Burial will follow at Collins Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Alvarado, J.J. Bazan, Sergio Canales, Daniel Canales, Michael Luna, Gilbert "Tony" Reynado, Guadalupe V. Rios, Zackariah Zertuche. Honorary pallbearer will be Estevan Francisco Garcia.
The family would like to thank the staff from New Century Hospice for the care they provided Francisco during his long illness. A special message of appreciation to Marivel Renteria for her extraordinary efforts and assistance in caring for Francisco.
