She was born in Lily, Ky, daughter of the late William T. and Mary Elizabeth (Turner) Howard. She is survived by her husband, Ernest L. Adkins, whom she married on September 30, 1948, two sons, Carl "Steve" Adkins of Lawrenceburg, IN and Russell A. Adkins of Cadiz, KY, three sisters, Dora Slaboda of West Land, MI, Lois Henderson of Aurora, IN and Vera Burris of Cincinnati, OH and two grandchildren, Jamie Adkins and Kyle Adkins.
