Sandy was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan, to Melvin and Esther Larcom. She married Delbert "Corky" Matthews in 1983. They were married 20 years before his passing in October 2003. She is survived by her children, Debra and Donnie Warshefski; her step daughter and son in law Sharon & John Sheffer; her grandchildren, Nicole Sheffer, Hannah Warshefski and Austin Piachotte; her brother, Charles Schmidt; sisters, Jan Marshall, Linda Piotrowski and husband Larry; her brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Lois Larcom; and brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Nancy Matthews; her first-husband, Jack Warshefski; and special friends, Joe and Shelly Piachotte; along with many nieces and nephews, friends and family. She graduated from Port Huron High School. She was a life-long Port Huron resident, active in both the charities and activities of the local chapters of the FOE Fraternal Order of Eagles and the American Legion. As per her wishes cremation has taken place. In place of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to the Port Huron Chapters of The FOE Fraternal Order of Eagles or The American Legion.
