Dean was born on December 26, 1960 to Inez Hawkins Singleton of Canton and the late Robert Singleton. He had been employed as a semi-trailer truck driver for several trucking companies throughout Western North Carolina and he had also worked at Browning Tire in Canton for many years. Dean loved the mountains where he was born and raised and he spent endless hours fishing every chance that he could find. Automobile racing was also a great passion of Dean's and he followed every race with a true fan's dedication. One of Dean's favorite places to visit was the beach, and his last wish was to see the ocean once more with his family. On this visit, Dean was able to see the ocean once more and when the golden sunrise rose on Tuesday morning Dean had peacefully passed away and awakened in his glorious Heavenly home. This seems a fitting farewell for our beloved Dean, for our love for him will always be deeper and greater than the ocean that he loved.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Tamera Miller Singleton; his children, Kaelyn McCullough (Saisha), Brianna Singleton (Zack Worley), Bobbie Davis, and Kimberly Davis; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Lillianna, Maddie, C J Webb, Zaylee, Parker, and Katelyn; a precious baby great-granddaughter, Izzy, who Dean dearly longed to hold but was blessed to be able to see her pictures; a sister, Debbie Blaylock (Randy Garrett); a brother, Duane Singleton (Jennifer); Jerimy Mathis, who Dean loved just like a brother; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends that he cherished.
A funeral service to honor the life of Dean will be held at 2:00 Monday, May 3, 2021 in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
