Born June 16, 1888, in Cumberland County, N.J., son of the late Charles and Belle (Mitchell) Bowen. Preceded in death by first wife, the former Ethel Glaspey; second wife, the former Sara Sheppard. Survived by son, Walter, of Somerset and brother, Paul, of Denver, Colo. Member of Shiloh Seventh Day Baptist Church, Shiloh, N.J. Retired carpenter. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Garrison-Sray Funeral Home, 43 Fayette St., Bridgeton, N.J., where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Charles Bonds officiating. Interment, Shiloh Baptist Cemetery. Family request memorials be made to the Shiloh Seventh Day Baptist Church. Local arrangements are in charge of the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home.
