He was the son of Lloyd and Lillian Church. He married Delores F. Smith on June 28, 1946, in Lake Geneva. Laudie was a U.S. Army Veteran and also an avid sports enthusiast. Before retiring in 1982, he was employed by the Walworth County Wisconsin Sheriff's Department for 27 years as a patrolman then later promoted to patrol sergeant. He lived for a time in Tamarac, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Delores of Marietta, Georgia; his 3 children: son, Steve Church and wife, Susan of Lake Geneva, daughter, Cynthia Stein and husband, Martin of Marietta, and son, Craig Church and wife, Jo of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania. He was loved by all and will be missed, but his legacy will live on with 6 grandchildren: Rebecca and husband, Jason Kostman, Loren Church, Heidi Church-Cutchins, Kerbie Church, Kayla Church, and Jenna Church; and great-grandsons, Shane Anthony Cutchins and Jameson Hugh Kostman. He was preceded in death by both his parents; brother, Larry; and sister, Lois.
