Christopher A. "Smoey" Martin Sr. died unexpectedly in Tallahassee, Florida on the early morning of April 21st, 2021 at the age of 60.
Christopher Allen Martin Sr. is survived by his son, Chris (Angela) Martin of Middletown, Ohio; daughter, Rebecca Martin of Dayton, Ohio; daughter, Jessica (Robert) McKinney of Tallahassee, Florida; daughter, Marcella (Willie) Dixon of Trotwood, Ohio; and their mother Julie Brown of Springfield, Ohio, his sister, Julia Martin of Wilmington, Ohio; brother, Anthony Martin of Mount Vernon, Ohio; brother, Preston (Tonya) Martin of Reeseville, Ohio; sister, Bonetta Taylor of Greenfield, Ohio and his partner of latter 15 years, Lorraine Hayes of Tallahassee, Florida; lifelong friend of 55years, Delbert Wallace of Martinsville, Ohio and friend of 41years, Jerry Harner of Clarksville, Ohio; 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by parents Ronald (Bonnie) Martin of Clarksville, Ohio and brother, Carey Martin of Wilmington, Ohio.
Christopher Allen Martin Sr. was born on November 2nd, 1960 in Wilmington, Ohio to Ronald Lee Martin and Bonnie Jean Conner. He attended school in Clarksville & Wilmington and went on to earn his certification as a skilled welder. He lived majority of his life in Wilmington, Ohio. Upon relocating to Florida, he began working for Ability Salvage and Scrap as a Yard Supervisor. He enjoyed the blue-collar industry of machinery, as he always had to get his hands dirty.
Chris was a talented mechanic and often spent his free time working on small projects to keep him busy. He was a modest caring individual who enjoyed staying active outdoors as a cyclist, loved listening to music with nightlife entertainment and who was extremely passionate about caring for his canine companions, he leaves behind his fur-baby, Cleo with Lorraine.
A visitation is scheduled at Brown Funeral Home for Friday, May 7, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. when a service will take place. Burial will follow at Clarksville Cemetery, with a reception upon completion of services at the Old Clarksville Schoolhouse. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Chris' life.
