Hazel R. James, 97, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2007, of Natural Causes at the The Inn at Barton Creek Assisted Living Center in Bountiful, Utah. She was born in Standrod, Utah, on July 31, 1910, to Oscar Rose and Lillie Agnes Badger. She was the sixth of ten children.

Hazel married David Alvin James on September 27, 1928. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. They were the parents of two children: Arlo A. James and Janet James. Her husband preceded her in death in February 1964. Hazel was an active member of the LDS church and was involved in many church callings. She worked hard during her life and was an example of patience, perseverance, and never compromised her integrity. She created beautiful handiwork and won many awards. She kept a spotless house and a meticulously manicured yard, which in September 1971 won the "Yard of the Month" award in Brigham City.

Hazel is survived by a son, Arlo A. James (Glorene) of Walla Walla, WA; daughter, Janet James, of Centerville, UT; sister, Genevieve (Udy) Elison, 28 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers, and three sisters. Many thanks to her friends and staff at The Inn at Barton Creek where Hazel resided for the past three years. While we grieve your passing, we also rejoice in the glorious reunion you have been longing for and very much deserve. We love you!

Funeral Services will be held Monday, Nov. 5, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City. There will be a viewing Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Monday from 11:45 a.m.-12:40 p.m.
