Nicholas R. Baker, 38 died suddenly on April 17, 2021. Nick, as he was known to friends and family, was the beloved son of Lou and Leslie (Haner) Baker of Columbus, GA., formerly of Wilmette, IL. He was a graduate of Hardaway High School, and in addition to his parents leaves behind a sister, Vanessa Catherine Baker (Tony Lopez Diaz) of Newport Beach, CA.

Nick loved baseball, his best friend and mentor --- his father --- Broadway musicals, travel, new experiences, jokes, and restaurants. He was a gift to all who knew and loved him, and he will be missed terribly as we adjust to life without his spirit and zest for life!

In addition to the immediate family survivors, others he leaves behind include extended family members, Russell and Nelda Baker of Magdalena, NM, Charles and Joan Haner of Sharon, MA., Gail and Richard Bottorff of Pendleton, IN., Ellen Richards, of Wichita Falls, TX., and Lisa (Haner) and Kemal Celik of Berkeley, CA and a host of cousins throughout the country.

Graveside services will be held at Parkside Cemetery, Columbus, GA., on Thursday April 22, at 10:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to a charity of your choice.
