John Hayden Greer, 89, peacefully passed away of natural causes at his Honeyville, Utah home on Wednesday, 21 April 2021, while surrounded by his family.

John was born in Campus, Kansas on 301931, to Oscar and Esther Pearl (Stults) Greer. He was the eleventh of their thirteen children, two of whom had died in infancy. Following the eighth grade, John left home to work out west on farms and be nearer his brothers.

From 1949 to 1953, John served in the U. S. Army. He was stationed at Fort Custer and Fort Wayne, Michigan, primarily. John married the former Luana Ruby Morrell in Elko, Nevada on 26 December 1957. Their marriage was sealed in the Logan Temple in February 1963.

The bulk of his career was spent working for Morrison-Knudsen on the railroad causeway that ran by Little Valley, Utah and Flaming Gorge Dam. He later became a heavy equipment operator at Wasatch Electric and worked on numerous power line projects throughout the Intermountain West. John also raised cattle and enjoyed working on his Wyoming ranch. There, he made friendships with many good people.

He was a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served, faithfully, in various organizations.

In addition to his parents and infant siblings, John was predeceased by his wife, Luana Greer and siblings, Betty, Immogene, Iva, Jack, Joann, Joe, Judy, and Leo.

Left to cherish his memory are John's children, , Bonnie Gay (Kent) Jensen, of Dayton, Idaho; Debbie Sue Stout, of Honeyville; J. Rick (Gayla) Greer, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Vicki Rae (Mike) Tripp, of Stockton, Utah. Also surviving are John's siblings, Elaine and Wayne Greer; eleven grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren, along with a many extended family members.

John's family appreciates Bishop Craig Anderson and Bristol Hospice. Special thanks to Holly Nielsen and Skyler, for their assistance during a difficult time.

Graveside services were held in the Willard Cemetery on 26 April 2021.
