Born in Portsmouth, VA, he was the son of the late John W. Brown and Susan W. Brown. He served honorably in the U. S. Army and was owner of Brown Adjusting, Inc. He was a longtime member of the Hampton Roads, Richmond, and Virginia State Claims Associations. He was also a longtime member of Bayside Presbyterian Church where he served several terms as an Elder and on the Evangelism Ministry.
In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Kidd and Catherine Ann Golden. Left to cherish his memory: four children, Russell T. Brown, Jr., Andrea Brown Manion and her husband, Sean, Wesley J. L. Brown, and Madison E. Brown; brother, Ernest W. Brown; four grandchildren, Russell Brown, III, Phillip Brown, Emma Manion, Victoria Manion; and beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Interment will take place at Albert G. Horton, Jr., Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
