Knoxvile - Rebecca Ailene Thompson, 45, was born May 6, 1975 and passed this life April 25, 2021 in Knoxville, Tennessee, surrounded by her family that she loved dearly.
Rebecca inspired all of us to see the best in everyone. If you ever met her, you know that she always took the time to ask about you and your family and truly cared about you. Her beautiful blue eyes and big smile were as warm and inviting as she was genuine and loving. Her hugs were as precious as life itself. Her love for life and her family was immeasurable. Her optimism was limitless.
Rebecca was always up for any challenge or adventure. She worked in retail for many years, then worked at Frost Oil for several years and has worked at the Hilton Garden Inn for the past 13 years. She was loved and admired by so many. She loved her job, she loved her co-workers and her guests.
She was a ray of sunshine to everyone she met.
Rebecca loved to travel and was especially fond of cruise ships. She also was passionate about collecting Barbie dolls and Cher Meego dolls and clothing. Rebecca spent countless hours researching her family history and anyone else that asked her to help them. She traced her family history all the way back to 1475. To say family was important to her is an understatement.
She is survived by her husband, soulmate and sweet love, David Thompson of Knoxville; her stepson, Bevan Thompson; her mother, Mary Cox (Leo) of Plainview, Arkansas; her brother, Jimmy Rogers (Tina) of Oilton, Oklahoma; her sister, LaDonna Frost (Jeff) of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her brother James Newton of Omaha, Nebraska; her sister, Michele Smith (Golden) of Oilton, Oklahoma, her God-daughters Lamaya, LaShea, and Kimberly Herman of Lenoir City, TN; three spoiled rotten dogs, Shamar, Layla and Ziva; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Almeda Thompson, and sister-in-law, Robin Thompson of Lenoir City, TN. Rebecca was also the fun loving, favorite aunt to her nieces and nephews. She went out of her way to make sure they knew that she loved each of them equally & wholeheartedly, which is how she loved everybody. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph David Newton Sr and her brother, Joseph David Newton Jr.
