Mildred N. Averill
WEISER - Services for Mildred N. Averill, 78, who died Saturday at home, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Northam-Jones Funeral Chapel, Weiser, by the Rev. George Hirose. Interment will be in Council IOOF Cemetery with R.C. Myrmel.
She was born June 23, 1899, at Wakonda S.D., and moved to Idaho as a young woman. She attended college in South Dakota, and at Albion Normal School, College of Idaho, and the University of Idaho. She taught school in the King Hill-Hammett area and near Council. She married Charles W. Averill May 24, 1931, at Mountain Home. They farmed at Hammett until 1945, when they began operating a ranch at Council. In 1970, they moved to Weiser. He died Nov. 28, 1971.
She was a member of the Council Congregational Church and the Weiser Church of the Redeemer, and was active in the Grange, Weiser Senior Citizens and the Friendly Neighbors Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Opal Saxton of Pullman, Wash., and Mrs. Alma Marvin of Boise; a son, Jim Averill of Eugene, Ore.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elba, six brothers and two sisters.
