Geoffrey was the fourth and youngest child of Geoffrey Henry Browne (1861-1927) and Olwen Verene Ponsonby (1876-1927). On 03 June 1946 he married Kathleen Mary Fitzgerald. On 18 December 1958, Kathleen divorced Geoffrey on the grounds of desertion. He died at Twyford Abbey Nursing Home, Acton, London.
