Bailey, Stephen J. age 67, from Hopkins, Minnesota, died in Hopkins, then went to Heaven to live with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. Stephen was born on February 13, 1954 in Stockton, California to Rev. Harley Bailey (died 2012) and Esther Louise Bailey (d. 2016). His birth was preceded by that of his older brothers Harley (Frank) Bailey (Washington State), and another elder brother Gerald (Southern California). Steve graduated from Orono High School in 1972. Later, he also matriculated at Normandale Community College which resulted in his employment and service as a sworn officer of the Jordan Minnesota Police Department and then as an officer of the Minnesota State Patrol for 25 years. He is survived by his two young sons Clinton and Jensen Bailey. In his retirement years, Steve worked as a pool technician and enjoyed meeting new people. He would often just find a seat at Caribou and wait for people to arrive. If they were alone, he invited them over and made lifelong friends with them. Soon he would enjoy an ad hoc regular weekly coffee time with a group of 5 or 6 men. Most of all, he loved spending time with his special friend Valarie. Stephen was active in his church, Eden Prairie Assembly, and contributed to the assistance of many others who were in need. Please address all gifts and memorials to Eden Prairie Assembly annoted "Bailey." The church will then administer all funds to assist the family at this time of sadness. A Celebration of Life memorial service is planned for 2 PM Tuesday, April 13, at Eden Prairie Assembly, 16591 Duck Lake Trail, Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
