Bishop Dell Rose of Lompoc died Monday, April 26, 2021, at the age of 87.

Del was born May 6, 1933, in Checotah, Oklahoma to Dillard and Peggy Rose. After moving to California, he graduated from Bakersfield Community College. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1954. Formerly of Lamont, he has been a resident of Lompoc since 1970.

Dell raised, trained and showed Paso Fino horses for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was in Christian ministry as a missionary and as the pastor of the First Apostolic Church in Lompoc for 53 years.

Dell is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Jo Rose, and his daughter Deborah Lynne Hosken of Bakersfield.

The visitation will be Sunday, May 2, from 6-8 pm, at the First Apostolic Church of Lompoc, 921 North O Street. The home-going service will be at the church Monday, May 3, at 11 am. Interment with military honors will follow in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery
