Johnny D. Bryant passed away on February 8, 2021 at Mission Hospital in his hometown of Asheville, NC at the age of 79. John was born February 11, 1941 in Swannanoa, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Della Bryant and daughter Rhenee Lunsford.
He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years Zinnia Bryant and one son John Bryant both of Asheville, NC and one stepdaughter Kelly Searcy Entas (Nick Entas) of Huntersville, NC. He also leaves 6 grandchildren and is survived by three brothers and two sisters all of North Carolina.
Most family called John "Big John", he was a veteran of the Marines and Army National Guard serving our country on many occasions. Most will remember John as an avid golfer, Tarheel fan and quiet man that loved his family. He loved watching the kids play in any sports event they participated in and never missed a game.
The family will have a small celebration of his life in early spring to place John's ashes in their final resting place.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity in John's honor.
