Edwin Benjamin Johnson
AUGUST 21, 1931 – APRIL 23, 2021 (age 89)
Edwin Benjamin Johnson age 89 passed away April 23,2021. Edwin was born on August 21,1931 in Salt Lake City Utah. He was the first of six children born to Ben Edwin and Dorothy Atkinson Johnson. Edwin was raised and educated in Salt Lake, East Millcreek area. He married Shirley Lambson in April 1954, later divorced. Edwin later married Barbara Richards on April 5th 1968, they were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Edwin was also a US Army Veteran serving in Japan during occupation and Korean conflict. He retired from Hill Air Force Base after 37 years of service. He then went on to work for Bird trucking inc for 14 years. He was an active member of the LDS church serving in many callings and was an ordnance worker in the Bountiful LDS Temple. Edwin loved the gospel and had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ. Edwin had many interests such as boating, hunting, yard work and traveling. But above all else he loved his wife Barbara, children and family very much. Edwin was preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara "bobbie" , parents Ben and Dorothy, son Duane, and brothers Eugene and Raymond Johnson. Survived by: his children, Becky Pearce, Ray Johnson, Brett Johnson ( Debby), 11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and siblings Florence, Elaine and Chris. And a very Heart felt thanks to the Southern Nevada State Veterans Home and Infinity hospice for all the tender loving care that was provided Dad.
