Vera "Jean" Goodrum Hill, 89, a long time resident of Burlington, died Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center surrounded by family and friends.

Born October 14, 1927 in Mooresville, NC, she was the daughter of William Worth Goodrum and Vera Bustle Goodrum, both deceased. She was a graduate of Mooresville High School and the wife of the late Thomas Elliott Hill.

Mrs. Hill was the Financial Secretary for 30 plus years at Holly Hill Baptist Church, where she was a charter member.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara (Marshall) Fuqua, Paula Atwater and son Tommy (Liz) Hill. Survivors also include her grandchildren, Jeff (Odella) Fuqua, Kim (Shane) Barger, Jennifer (Steve) Craig, Dr. Erin (Zack) Jackson, Michael Hill and Katherine Hill and twelve great-grandchildren.
