Ronald "Ron" Payne
Ronald "Ron or Papaw" Payne, age 62, loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather, passed away, Saturday, April 10, 2021.
Ron was born in Paris, Tennessee, on April 28, 1958, and worked in the pipefitter/welding industry. On December 20, 1979, he married Carol (Cochran) Payne in Troy, Michigan, and he instantly became the father of two children.
Ron loved living in Lewiston, riding four-wheelers, and enjoying the outdoors. He was always making people smile and laugh with his sarcastic manner. Ron was everyone's biggest supporter, and he was always happy for all the good things in everyone else's life, as though it was his own. Ron loved to camp, fish, and make many friends but, most of all, he loved his grandchildren.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; Hullie and Mary Sue Payne.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; his two children; Rita (Mark) Lariviere and Kelly (Doug F.) Champine; his seven grandchildren, Mark (Kerry) Lariviere, Amber (Michael) Griffin, E.J. (Becky A.) Champine, Madison Champine, Allison (Marc C.) Lariviere, Skyler Lariviere, Journey Champine; one great-granddaughter, Scarlett Champine (Madison's daughter) and a second great-grandchild on the way, Aspen Lou (Mark and Kerry's daughter); seven siblings, Margaret Rank, Andy (Pat) Payne, Randy (Faye) Payne, Bob (Cindy) Payne, Kathy Anchor, Rick (Dana) Payne, Mike (Amy) Payne; and several nieces and nephews whom he adored.

An outdoor celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021, from 2-5 p.m. at 121 Chestnut Ridge, Walled Lake, MI, 48390, with a brief service at 3:30 p.m. A light lunch will also be provided.
