Jake, slipped away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, January 12 at the age of 99. He is once again with the love of his life, his wife, Mary. He will be greatly missed by his children, Maureen, David, and Mary Alice (Larry); his grandchildren, Trevor, Kendall, Chris, Erin, Lindsay, Laura, Michael and Alex and by his great grandchildren, Mikayla, Addie, Noah and Layla. He has left them quite a legacy. Dad enjoyed a long and full life. He loved to be outdoors and when he retired he built a cottage on Conestoga Lake where he and Mom spent their summers. Their winters were spent in Vero Beach Florida with their many friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and travel. He and Mom travelled across Canada, to Europe and Asia. He loved to see new things. He never felt he was too old to learn and to that end he became quite adept at using a computer. He loved to laugh and kibitz, he loved a good hamburger, a dirty martini and a rousing game of cards. Above all, he loved his family. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary, his parents, John and Elizabeth (Lehn) Anton, his sisters, Mary and Katherine and his daughter-in-law Martha. Many thanks to the caregivers and staff at Conestoga Lodge who took such very good care of both our Mom and Dad. He lived life on his terms and always tried his best. He fought the good fight. He took the cards that God gave him and played them the best he could.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be announced. Online condolences at www.westmountfuneralchapel.com
