Ricky "Punk" Dotson, 66, of Ransom, KY passed away Monday, April 26, 2021 at his home. Born May 2, 1954 in Matewan, WV, he was the son of the late Marvin and Norma Jean (Hager) Dotson.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Jason Todd Dotson, a niece, Terri Honaker, and a special uncle, Stirl Hager.

Punk was a retired coal miner. He was a proud member of the UMWA District 17, the NRA, and he was an avid deer hunter.

Survivors include his son, Paul Daniel Dotson (Phyllis Maggard) of Isom, KY, his special girlfriend, Tina Hurley of Matewan, WV, 4 brothers, Sammy "Bogar" (Pricy) Dotson of Morehead, KY, George (Pamela) Dotson, Don "Kenner" (Sherri) Dotson, and Steven "Johnny Red" Dotson, and Jonathan "Jake" Dotson all of Ransom, KY, 3 sisters, Betty Sue Dotson and Betty Jo (Freddie) Bowling both of Ransom, KY, and Jennifer "Limm" (Muncy) Dotson of Phelps, KY, his grandchildren, Brittany Danielle Dotson, Aaron Dylan Ricky Dotson, Sophia Kennedy, Avery Eldridge, Lily Eldridge, and Jordan Bentley, a great-granddaughter, Erica Hope Griffith, special nieces, Hannah Bowling, Kensley Dotson, Cassie Honaker, Hailey Zornes, and Kimberly Dotson, special nephews, Joseph Bowling, Michael Dotson, Brent Dotson, Derrick Dotson, James Robinette, and Homer Varney, special friends, Roger Coleman and Greg Hatfield. Also surviving is a host of other family and friends.

In honoring Punk's wishes, cremation will take place and no services will be held.
