Wanda Louise Watson, born on November 1, 1938 in Abingdon, Virginia to J.R. and Virginia Lilly, passed away at home with her children and grandchildren at her side. She was a kind, considerate and compassionate person. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a nursing home until she retired in 2004. Her patients and their family members adored her. She worked hard, and truly cared for the well being of others. One of her favorite pastimes was gardening. It brought her great joy and she was very proud of the things that she grew. She took pride in everything that she did. She always gave 100% of herself in any endeavor and happily went above and beyond to help others when needed. She was patient and calm during difficult situations and was someone that you could always trust and depend on. She was one of a kind! To say her family meant the world to her would be an understatement. Wanda was proud of her family and believed in each and every one of them. She was a devoted mother to her four children, whom she loved dearly, and took great pride in all of her grandchildren and her great grand child. She loved and treasured every second she spent with them. Everyone loved going to "Nanny's" house! You could always count on having a great time there, whether you were baking cookies, playing board games, or watching cartoons while eating ice cream cones. Wanda gave her life to Jesus at age 10 and spent her life as a devoted Christian. She was an active member of East Brent Baptist Church and often played the piano during services. While she will be missed dearly by the family and friends she has left behind, she would want them to know that she is exactly where she wants to be, resting peacefully in Heaven. Wanda was preceded in death by her daughter Denise Gean. She is survived by three of her children, Dwight Watson, Donna Garber (Tim), and David Watson(Melissa); grandchildren Heather Davis, Jonathan Watson, and Sarah Watson and her great grandchild, Steven Davis. She is also survived by her sisters Reba Stinnett and Sandra Renfro and brother, Charles Lilly. Services are to be held on Thursday April 29th at Pensacola Memorial Gardens with the viewing beginning at 10am and service beginning at 11.
